WALCOTT SPEAKS ON ARSENAL GOAL CELEBRATION

Theo Walcott made a scoring return to the Emirates Stadium, where he played in the colours of Arsenal for over a decade. He was on target against the North Londoners in the colours of boyhood club Southampton during their recent Premier League game. Theo Walcott scored the opening goal of the game and went on to celebrate the goal thereby drawing criticism from a lot of the Arsenal fans who believed that Theo Walcott showed a lack of respect towards the club by celebrating his goal and in the manner that he did.

Theo Walcott talked to Amazon Prime about that controversial goal celebration earlier this week. According to the Everton loanee, he had no reason not to celebrate his well taken goal against the Gunners and that he always feels like finding the back of the net is one of the best feelings. Theo Walcott went on to point out that he scored a lot of goals at the same Emirates Stadium in an Arsenal shirt but that's in the past as he's now a Southampton player. The England international pointed out that playing for boyhood club Southampton is a massive thing for him personally.

Walcott scored his goal against Arsenal on 18 minutes but it was not enough to win the league game for his team after the Gunners recovered to play a draw at home to the Saints in the second half. Arsenal skipper Pierre-EmerickAubameyang scored for the Gunners at the start of the second half before his team had to hold on to the 1-1 draw due to the red card to defender Gabriel Magalhaes. The Arsenal defender was given two yellow cards in the second half as the Gunners ended the game with ten men. The second yellow card given to Gabriel was for a foul on Theo Walcott.
