Southampton striker Danny Ings is currently attracting a lot of interest from some clubs in the English Premier League and abroad following the fine form he displayed for the Saints last season. The England international striker was in fine form for the South Coast club in the last campaign as he scored a couple of goals and registered a couple of assists that saw them challenge for a finish in the top half of the table. His blistering performances in a Southampton shirt have earned him a lot of praise in recent times and has linked him with a likely move to Manchester United or Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
However, his teammate, Theo Walcott, has stated that despite the rumors that have been circling his future at the St Mary's, he would like to see the striker stay for the next season. Walcott stated that the England forward is one of the best strikers in the league and that it would be really nice for him to stay back in a bid to help them challenge for a Europa League spot next season.
Walcott, who joined Southampton on a permanent basis from Everton last summer, was also linked with a return to Goodison Park but he signed a new long-term deal at Southampton to end the reports of his likely move away. On his permanent Southampton stay, Walcott mentioned that he has always wanted to sign for the club and is finally happy that he is now a full-fledged Saints player.
Manchester United are linked with signing a striker this summer as a potential replacement for EdinsonCavani who will leave the club at the end of next season as he only signed a one-year contract extension last summer following his brilliant debut campaign for the Red Devils.
